Helping You Reach Your Potential with Psychological Evaluation and Testing
Psycho-educational Evaluation
Typically includes an aptitude/cognitive (I.Q.) test and an achievement (academic) test.
Details
A psychoeducational evaluation (often referred to as a "learning disability" evaluation) is a comprehensive assessment that helps identify a person's intellectual and academic strengths and weaknesses. This gives information about how they learn and process information. A psychoeducational evaluation is useful to identify a specific learning disability (reading, written language, mathematics) and the results are typically used for educational planning (i.e. an IEP, Section 504 plan, or accommodations). The client will be administered an individual intelligence test and an achievement test. A clinical interview will be conducted with the client (and with parent/guardian(s) if the client is a child). A written report will be provided with a detailed explanation of the findings and pertinent recommendations. The interview may be conducted in-person or online. Testing is always done in-person and may be completed in one or two sessions. The presentation of the report and feedback session may be done in-person or online. Initial interview - One hour Testing - Typically one 4-hour session or two 2-hour sessions Feedback session - One hour
